I really am a pain in the bum you know!? I've had my current sewing studio for 7 years and as I've covered before it's the 'box room' - I'm still not sure why we call our smallest bedroom the 'box room' here in the UK (please let me know if you do!). In those 7 years, my goodness has my 'studio' been reshuffled! I've had the furniture arranged in so many different ways, swapped furniture from other rooms as they've changed over time (many from the kids bedrooms, some from the living room) etc etc... and you know I've not yet found a 'way' that works. So I 'manage' for a bit and then I get frustrated that it's doesn't have the right flow, space that I need to work...

The reality is, I have accumulated over 20 years of fabrics, sewing paraphernalia, books, and other creative stuff since I started making things in my teens. More since I started a business 13 years ago... Admittedly some of the stuff has been used, some has over time been sold or given away and it's dwindled down but of course if you are creative you will know half of the fun of making things is acquiring the 'crafty bits' you need to do the thing you do (i.e. shopping for them!) ... So I have a room bursting at the seams (excuse the pun!) with things I 'need' or 'want to keep' and a modest sized room to keep them in. Again, as I've covered before I am EXCEPTIONALLY lucky to have this small room in our house, having started at the kitchen table of our last house, I am very very grateful to have it. It's just not really big enough for all my things... and as no lottery wins are on the cards, I needed to tackle the space...

I had pencilled in this last week to sort it out, so I can go into the Autumn (one of my busiest times) with a space that works... After 4 long, non-stop days, a couple of nights on the sofa - because all the stuff from my sewing room was in boxes in our bedroom, so we couldn't get in bed! We ache in places we didn't even know existed, but I THINK WE'VE DONE IT!! I've dwindled my stash of goodies further, I've emptied and and rejigged the furniture (along with the help of my lovely Hubby) and I've got the set up I need - an area dedicated to sitting and sewing, and lots and lots of drawers to store all my things in.... Until the next vlog post when I say.... wwwwweeeellllll, you know when I said I 'liked' my new set up.... Haha, as I've said... I'm a pain in the bum, so it's a possibility! ;)
